What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?


Software;


Blogger:

I have used blogger to store all of my coursework, I have never used blogger before but I found out that it was very simple and easy to use, it is very accessible and useful in documenting what I have done for my product. Over time I have learnt to use blogger, for example I have learnt how to create new blogs and upload them, edit them and add any information I haven't included. I learnt that you can embed documents such as word, power point documents etc.

After Effects:

I used after Effects to create a movie opening title sequence and a company logo. This software is used to edit footage and add special effects. This was why it was easy to make title sequences because we can add different types of special effects and there is so much you can do on it and you can be very creative. Because After Effects is a very well known software, there are a lot of tutorials on YouTube which helped me get started. When making my title openings I learnt how to create moving objects with effects that look like it sprinkles triangles off behind it, also I was able to create moving text and add audio over the top of the clip.

Premier Pro

Premier Pro was also new to me but it is very easy to pick up, I used this to compile all of my footage and create my final product, I used Premier Pro to add various titles such as Director, Edited By etc. I also used YouTube to help me learn how to use this software but it was very simple to use, everything was laid out clearly and was easy to access and understand, Premier Pro allowed me to create smooth transitions from one shot to another, I also was able to create different cuts such as straight cuts and dip to white/black etc. It also allowed me to cut parts of the footage out, add sound or completely remove the sound and more.



Hardware;

Camera:

The camera I used was a Canon 700D, this camera was very easy to use and it is able to take high quality videos, whilst using the camera I learnt how to adjust different settings such as depth of field, the shutter speed, aperture size etc.

Apple Mac:

I used the Macs because they are able to run the editing software in which I was required to use, this is where I worked on my product, editing and creating my titles using After Effects and Premier Pro. I have never properly used Apple Macs before and it was all new using them for After Effects and Premier Pro, I learnt how to navigate the software, how to import different sound, video files etc.
